UFO Theory

The most popular theory concerning the origins of crop circles is one that involves spacecraft from different worlds. The alien's intent is something that is often argued amongts UFO conspirators, however.

Some believe that the crop circles we see are the imprints left by spacecraft which have landed in fields. The idea of a hovering space craft landing and taking off vertically explains how the circles appear in the middle of fields with no tracks leading to or from them.

Others believe that the crop circles are not simple imprints made from landings, but messages written in the fields by some sort of energy beam on board the UFO. This is now the more popular theory, as crop circles have often displayed such complex and spread out designs that it is unlikely that a spacecraft would be in that shape. There are two primary theories to explain why aliens are writing messages in our crops:

All of these specific UFO theories explain most of the basic elements of crop circles. The heat of the spacecraft or its energy beam easily explains the unique bending and heating of the crops, and the idea of a hovering craft explains the lack of tracks around the circles. The presence of a flying craft explains the odd sights and sounds which witnesses have reported.

The only viable critique of this theory is that UFOs have not been proved to exist, leading some to believe that all crop circles have not been made by aliens, but are hoaxes.
